Approx 24 hours per week 

Shifts :  9am-7pm , 7pm- 9am , One day shift and one overnight required.

 4 weekly rota

Experience in hoisting, manual handling and personal care essential. 

You  will be supporting this young lady to live her independent life , socialising , swimming , going to cinema , eating out , shopping , walking her dog.  Housework is to be done throughout the week & preparing and cooking her meals.

Trainers – who are Autistic or a person who has a Learning Disability

We are looking for people who are already qualified or willing to learn how to become an Oliver McGowan Mandatory Trainer on Learning Disability and Autism.

Trainers are needed to deliver in person to up to 30 people at a time.

You would work with another trainer to assist you to deliver the session.

Learning Disability Trainers would train on Learning Disability and Autistic Trainers will train on Autism.

Wage:  

When training to be a Co-Trainer you will be paid £12.21 per hour, plus £1.48 holiday allowance per hour = £13.69 per hour in total. 

When you are a qualified Co-Trainer you will be paid £13.05 per hour plus a holiday allowance of £1.58 per hour = £14.63 per hour in total.

Hours:

Casual hours as needed. When delivering training the working hours will be between 4 to 7 a day. Learning Disability trainers work on a morning, Autistic Trainers work on the afternoon.

We are looking for someone to provide 6 hours of care and support to make a real difference to a young man, broadening his horizons, developing his independence and supporting him to access leisure activities and engage in activities in the community. This might include walks, going to the cinema, to café’s and restaurants, to events locally and live music events.

This young man needs some level of support with all aspects of personal care, including toileting, showering and dressing, taking medication and meal preparation. Carers use a range of equipment to aid with personal care and transfers including a slide board, ceiling hoist and mobile hoist. Full training will be provided.

To cover one of the following shifts each week.

Thursday 3pm – 9pm, Friday 3pm – 9pm, Saturdays 10am – 4pm or 4pm to 10pm

Monthly waking night 3pm until 10am (19 hours) (Friday or Saturday)

Description:  A 60 year old lady with a degenerative, painful physical disability and a mental health disability is looking for a Personal Assistant the position will be available from June 2025.  This is to assist the lady with daily living tasks, including household duties, the occasional personal care, and community access to support her independence and well-being.

Duties to include:  Support in the kitchen with preparing meals, light housekeeping and laundry. Supporting social activities and outings, including assistance in shopping and attending appointments. Providing emotional support and companionship. Support with medication and ensuring the lady's safety and well-being. 

An online training course is provided by the employer to understand her mental health condition. She uses an electric wheelchair when outside the home. The wheelchair folds and is lightweight, making it easy to transport in the boot of a car and the employer has a compact, lightweight wheelchair ramp to get the wheelchair into the car boot, without any need for lifting.

Applicants must be patient, honest, reliable and a car driver with their own vehicle.

Hours: 16 hours per week – Monday to Friday on an afternoon (3 hours 4 days a week and 4 hours on 1 day) this can be flexible on discussion with the employer. No bank holidays required.

Wage: £ 12.46 per hour plus mileage.

Danesmoor Trust

The Trust is looking to recruit a personal assistant to support two young adults within their support living home and in the community activities on a weekend. There is both weekend day shifts and evening shifts available with the possibly of other shifts available when team members are on annual leave or to cover sickness. A four-week rolling Rota is in place and you would not be required to work every weekend.

Danesmoor Trust was founded in June 2015 by the parents of the young adults you may be supporting. The young adults are at the centre of everything we do and a person-centred approach is a must. We would like to think that the quality of support is of the highest standard and that everyone strives to achieve this.

A minimum of a level 2 diploma in health and social care or equivalent is preferred but not essential as all training will be provided.

A full clean driving licence and access to personal transport covered by business insurance is desirable.

Two satisfactory references and a disclosure from The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) will be required in the event of position being offered.

Positions available: 10hrs and sleepover per week to cover maternity leave and Bank position available.  

Rates of pay: £12.21 per hour, £70 Sleep-over rate and mileage is paid at 45p per mile.
