Mentoring for Independence

The Mentoring for Independence project supports young people, aged between 13 and 25 years old, to learn Independent Living Skills, through the transition of being a child, to becoming a young adult.

Skills include:

·  Travel Training

·  Cooking

·  Budgeting

·  Personal Care

·  Social Awareness

Young people will gain confidence, self esteem, friendships, practical and emotional support, in a safe, flexible, friendly and fun environment.

The bespoke project is delivered in 3 hour sessions, Thursdays during school term, at the Independent Living Hub, and includes support from experienced staff and the use of building based resources, such as accessible kitchen, computers and a Nintendo Wii in our chill out room.

Sessions may also be available during school and college holidays, evenings and weekends, with opportunities to access social and leisure opportunities.
