Duties: To take out and accompany the young woman with her choice of leisure and community activities like accessing shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants, cinema etc.

Rate:  Meets National Minimum Wage plus expenses, including agreed mileage. DBS will be paid for.

Hours: 4 hours on a Saturday (times can be flexible).

Essential: Applicant must be reliable, young minded, trustworthy, friendly and supportive.  The applicant must be a non-smoker as the young woman has asthma. Driver with access to vehicle with the appropriate business class insurance.

Description: An exciting opportunity has arisen at Danesmoor Trust, we are looking to recruit personal assistants to support two young adults within their supported living home and community activities. Danesmoor Trust was founded in June 2015 by the parents of the young adults you may be supporting.

Duties: The young adults we support are at the centre of everything we do and a person-centred approach is a must. We would like to think that the quality of support is of the highest standard and that everyone strives to achieve this. Hard work, thoughtfulness and respect are what we will ask of you at all times.

Hours: Weekend bank positions and evenings with the opportunity for contracted hours in the future.

Rate:   £9.00 per hour. £66.56 Sleep-over rate and mileage is paid at 40p per mile.

Essential: Two satisfactory references and a disclosure from The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) will be required in the event of position being offered.

Preferred: A minimum of a level 2 diploma in health and social care or equivalent but is not essential as all training will be provided. A full clean driving licence and access to personal transport covered by business insurance is desirable.

Description: Chilled out easy going lady with a love of crafts and animals needs support with a wide range of personal, domestic and social activities.

Duties:  Tasks include personal care, medication management, dressing, food prep, light housework, laundry and ironing, shopping, support if going out, companionship.

Hours: 11.5 per week

Start time between 7 am & 8 am (latest due to medication). Half-hour lunchtime - Tuesday to Thursday anytime between 12 pm till 1 pm (latest due to medication). 1 hour Tea Time - Monday to Thursday 4pm till 5pm

 Rate: NMW to start with but increasing to £9.50 per hour if a permanent contract is offered.

Essential: Must have a caring compassionate personality. Trustworthiness and reliability are also really important. 

Preferable:  No previous experience is necessary, and full training would be given.

Description: A personal assistant  is required for a young man with Downs Syndrome and Type 1 Diabetes (Insulin-dependent)

Candidates must be able to work with a person with learning disabilities who, at times, will need support to maintain his health and provide motivation for him to get into the community to enjoy his activities safely.

Activities will include swimming, visiting the gamers lounge, socialising and trips into the community.

Hours per week: 4 (probably weekends)

Wage Rate: National Minimum Wage 

Essential Criteria: The PA should have experience of working with people who have Type 1 Diabetes and insulin dependency as the young man, although able to administer his insulin himself, will need supervision around his diet and his insulin pen.  If the PA does not have this experience, then they should be willing to learn and training will be provided.  

Desirable: Some experience with disabled children would be preferred.

A driver is preferred but this is not essential. Access to their own vehicle would be beneficial though the young man does have his own car available

Description: Support required for a 2-year-old boy with complex health needs. The support will be to play with and supervise the child whilst his Mum carries out tasks or has rest period. This may include administration of medication and fluids/food through peg, full training will be given and supervision will be provided by Mum.

Initially the successful applicant will have full supervision from Mum until she feels they are competent then possible short periods supporting the child alone, to allow Mum to go to local shops etc.

Hours – 8 hours a week over 2 days. Days can be flexible, but support would need to be between 9.30am – 2.30pm during a weekday.

Rate of Pay: £9.00 per hour weekdays

Duties will include: Playing with child, supervision and maintaining his safety at all times, providing support to Mum, enabling her to carry out tasks. Administering medication and fluids/food through Gastronomy tube (Peg). Personal care if required, possible support with Mum to social activities and shopping.

Applicants must be: Trustworthy, honest, and enthusiastic. They need to be willing to learn and be able to show initiative when providing support. Good time keeping and reliability is essential. 

Non-Smoker preferred. Training will be given but some experience would be an advantage.

Hours per week:

There are 22 hours available per week but if preferred applicants can apply for either the just evening shifts or just the overnight shift or both.

Shift pattern:

Two evening shifts 3:30pm to 8:30pm  

One overnight stay 8:30pm to 08:30am

Some additional hours during school holidays may be required/available, flexibility is required.

Wage Rate: National Minimum Wage to £9.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Duties included: Personal care, assistance with medication and feeds, play, exercise and also walks.

Essential Criteria:  Applicants must be kind, patient, trustworthy and reliable. 

Some experience with people who have complex needs is essential e.g. peg feeds, epilepsy.
