BANK Personal Assistant Job Reference 3592

Job Type: Redcar and Cleveland (PA's)

Area: Redcar – TS10

Description: A great opportunity has arisen for the chance to support a lively 8-year-old in the Redcar area. This is a Bank Worker Position.
Support is to access the community, go to the beach, soft play, and swimming. There is a need for some support with personal care, hand hygiene and assist with toilet.

Hours: Bank worker to cover of permanent staff when on holiday or off sick for up to 5 hours per week during term time, 8 hours per week during school holidays.

Wage: £11.44 per hour

Duties will include: To ensure the child is safe whilst supporting to access activities. The suitable person will need to be able to give the child time to process verbal information and use a minimum of verbal communication.

Applicants must be: Patient, reliable, honest and trustworthy. Knowledge of Autism and positive behaviour support strategies are an advantage, however information can be provided at interview. There is also an opportunity for the employee to access training.

Description: A Female Support worker is required in accordance with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 for a lady living in the Redcar area. To help the lady to be independent and change her life for the better.

Duties will include: Personal care such as washing and dressing, help with household tasks.

A full driving licence is required as you will be taking the lady out in her own vehicle for things like shopping and taking her out with her family. You will be helping the lady to achieve all the goals she has in her life, can you be the person who changes her life?

Hours: Weekdays 8.30am – 6.30pm and Weekends 9.30am – 5.30pm.

Rate of Pay: £11.44 per hour

We are currently looking to recruit a team of Support Workers / Personal Assistants for a young man (nearly 18 years old) with additional needs in the East Cleveland area, for care and support within the home and community.

Can you work as part of a team to support our son?

Hours: A total of 40 hours per week to be shared between a number of support workers. Core hours of support include -

Monday – 4pm-8pm (this to include support to local youth club) – 1:1 support. Tuesday to Friday, after School - Up to 4 hours (2:1 support) Weekends and Bank holidays - Up to 6 hours (2:1 support)

All hours are flexible and can be discussed with us at interview. Support package covers term-time and school holidays, with the potential for some additional hours once our son leaves school (July 2025).

Wage: £11.44 per hour 

Duties to include: Our son loves to be out and about in the community, so this could be walks by the sea, or the local parks, trips to the swimming pool, shopping and accompanying him to his youth club. There will be a degree of personal care involved in the role which may include showering, dressing and changing. Preparation of foods and assistance with feeding. Interaction and play with stimulating activities in the home and in the community, all the while supporting and supervising. Provide a duty of care and wellbeing, looking out for any dangers and anxiety, assist with any situations that arise. Support with domestic duties around the home.

Essential criteria: Applicants must be kind, patient, trustworthy and reliable and able to deliver person-centred care and support. You must be physically fit as our son has a manual wheelchair which is his mode of transport outside the home. Full, clean UK driving license and over 25 years of age, due to Motability car insurance requirements.

Desirable: Previous experience with supporting children or adults with learning disabilities would be preferred but not essential.

Training will be provided around the individual support needs – manual handling and use of equipment (hoists, slings, wheelchair accessible vehicle), feeding, individual forms of communication and listening skills.
