Advocate - Casual basis

Temporary Casual Advocate to work in Darlington and surrounding local authorities.

DAD requires advocates who are able to provide high quality, person centred advocacy to ensure people have their voice heard and rights upheld.

Must possess the required qualification for IMHA and /or IMCA.

To provide a range of types of advocacy support (depending on experience and qualifications), including:

• General Independent Advocacy

• Relevant Person’s Representative, for people who are subject to a Deprivation of Liberty Safeguard under the Mental Capacity Act 2005

• Independent Mental Health Advocacy, for people subject to the Mental Health Act 1983, amended 2007

• Care Act Advocacy

• Independent Mental Capacity Act advocacy.

The role will involve supporting people to speak for themselves, to obtain information and to understand their options and rights. The role will also involve non instructed advocacy.

The post holder will work in conjunction with other staff of the organisation.

Salary: £12.10 per hour

DASH Playschemes Recruitment

Would you like to gain experience working with children?

If the answer is yes, you may be ideal to join a team of volunteers on DAD’s DASH Play Scheme.

Previous experience is not needed. Training is provided. You must be aged 16 or over.
