Direct Payments Support Service Employer Bulletin

October 2015

The purpose of the monthly bulletin is to provide you with general information around your employer responsibilities but will change from time to time as and when legislation does so it is important that you read it each month. We are here to help, so if you have any queries please contact us.

We are moving!

As from Monday 12th October, the Direct Payment Support Service will move from the Central Entrance of Enterprise House (unit 1B) to the South Entrance (Unit 1N-1P) . If you enter Enterprise House from Valley Street, please go through the South Entrance, to the bottom door. Some of you may remember this as our old office. Our telephone, postcode and email addresses will all remain the same.

Skills for Care - Training

There are free training opportunities available for Direct Payment employers, their Personal Assistants and carers and disabled people, who may want to become Direct Payment employers. DAD are organising and facilitating training courses which are funded by Skills for Care.

The courses will take place mainly at DAD’s Independent Living Hub and include:

• Free half day or full day courses
• Refreshments
• Travel expenses
• Replacement support
• Introduction to learning and further learning options
• Updating skills or learning new skills
• Opportunities to meet new people

Courses will begin in September 2015 and run until February 2016. People can choose to attend one or more courses. Numbers are limited so places need to be booked as possible please.
