Direct Payments Support Service Employer Bulletin

Christmas 2015

The purpose of the monthly bulletin is to provide you with general information around your employer responsibilities but will change from time to time as and when legislation does so it is important that you read it each month. We are here to help, so if you have any queries please contact us.

Christmas Drop In

We would like you to join us at this festive time of the year for tea’s / coffee’s and nibbles at The Independent Living Hub, West Lodge, West Crescent on Thursday 17 December between 1 and 3pm. We will be having a Christmas singalong and quiz and you can chat to staff, members and volunteers and enjoy the spirit of Christmas.

Christmas Payroll

As you will know, we run payroll every 4 weeks for Direct Payment employers. In December we will be running payroll early due to the festive bank holidays and so are asking employers to call in with their Personal Assistant’s hours on the 14th December. When calling in hours for this period please give the hours for the four weeks period since this payroll. Please remember to include any enhanced rates that you may want to apply to the bank holidays and please remember to check that you have sufficient funds in your Direct Payment account if you decide to pay your PA’s early.

The Direct Payment Support Service will be open as usual throughout the Christmas period except for bank holidays and you can contact us via the usual telephone number on 01325 360524.

It is important that you ring in with the hours on the above dates to ensure your payroll is processed in time for you to pay your PA’s on the due date. Please remember to tell us about any holiday or sick pay or leavers at each payroll. If you wish, you can ring in with your hours before the Monday.

We would always endeavour to provide you with a courtesy call as a prompt if you have not called in with your hours however it is important that you do not rely on this service as we cannot guarantee we will be in a position to provide this every payroll.

Please note if you choose to pay your personal assistant early, please make them aware that this is not their normal pay day as there may be occasions when we are only able to get payroll details to you by the Friday.
